Then the thank you is spoken and it occurs to him that these are tears of joy, relief or something in that general vicinity. It's easy to forget sometimes that humans occasionally cry for good reasons and not as an expression of sadness or physical pain. (The rain his emotions bring down from the skies have never been the result of joy, only ever his sorrow.) ]
