A mad ship party | @two_handed
For a girl practically born fighting, a happy ending means one thing: a chance to explore. And with all the realms united together under Queen Regina's quote unquote "curse", the list of possible destinations seems infinite. Of course, many of these newly connected realms know nothing of Storybrooke or the other realms to which they are connected. Some that she's discovered don't even know that other realms exist. Every new realm is a brand new adventure. It's perfect.
Of course, Alice knows it's not what her Papa - or Robin for that matter - would prefer for her. But she can't help it; she feels sometimes as if she was born to do this, to adventure in far-off places without any real reason other than the sheer joy of it.
Perhaps there's just a little too much pirate in her blood to be content with a simple, domestic life.
This latest journey sees Alice arrive on a dark, gloomy-looking island, built up with run-down buildings that threatened to crumble under as much as a look. The hopelessness of the place is only added to by the sight of the brightly-colored world across the sea from where she stands, looking for all the world like something out of one of those fairy tale movies they make about people like her.
What kind of place is this, anyway?
It's a docked, smashed up ship that catches her attention next, and Alice wanders over to it. Yet another thing on this dismal island that seems to be ruined. "You must've been a beauty," she tells it with a sympathetic frown, a gentle pat on the splintered wood. "Too bad you wound up like this."
If anyone sees her, this girl in modern clothes who's talking to a ship, they'll no doubt think she's completely mad. It's an idle thought she has as she pats the side of the ship, although she lets it pass without much concern.
After all, it wouldn't be the first time.

hello I am here a thousand years later
He's just on his way back there from the chip shoppe when he sees the girl apparently talking to his ship (okay, Uma's ship) and he tilts his head curiously as he approaches her. Her clothes are a little strange, they're not the Isle's usual ragged punk chic, but they're not exacty Auradon's preppy pastel perfection either. He also doesn't recognise her, which is strange here on the docks - it's not as though he knows everybody on the isle, but everybody around here? He recognises most of them.
"Can I help you?" he asks, a little sharply
hi! ♥
Hell, she's half one herself.
"Sorry. Didn't mean to trespass! I guess I felt a bit sorry for her. It's gotta be lonely, you know? We talk lots about how a sailor needs the sea, but I don't think we ever really talk about how the ship needs it, too? But she does. She needs it the same way you do. So it's probably sad for her too, being like this."
There's a pause where Alice realizes that she's probably confusing the young man rather than putting him at any sort of ease. She offers him her hand.
"Alice Jones. The second, technically."
hello!
Harry tilts his head curiously at her explanation, because honestly? He gets it. It's a little weird to hear somebody just launch into an explanation like that to a total stranger, but he knows what she means.
He takes the offered hand and bows, twirling his hook in a little flourish.
"Harry Hook, the one and only." he introduces himself with a little smirk. "And unfortunately she's... no longer seaworthy." it's a fact that breaks his heart a little every day.
"As you can see we don't exactly have the facilities around here for the extensive repairs she requires." he waves his hook to indicate the run-down docks - the Lost Revenge required dry-docking for the level of work she'd need to get her out to sea again, and that was...something of an impossibility with the resources available.
I do apologize for how odd she is, but I'm looking forward to this so much. :3
"Wait, Hook? As in Captain?" That'd make him some alternate version of her Papa, and really he seems too young for that. Unless... oh. "Or his kid?"
There's a small part of her wondering if she's able to find a way to help with the repairs, actually, what with her magic and all. But right now... well, perhaps a better introduction is in order.
she's perfect never apologise XD I am too!
He was almost tempted to say yes, but he knew if Uma heard he went around claiming he was the captain after they'd already settled that particular matter, she might have something to say about it.
Besides, it was clear she was talking about his father, which added a whole other layer to 'people who would murder him for claiming he was, indeed, Captain Hook', so he tilted his head and flashed her a grin.
"His son. I'm surprised you haven't heard of me, but then you don't seem as though you're from around here..."
no subject
She'll explain herself though, at the same time as she confirms his suspicion with a slight nod of her head; she's definitely not from around this place, if her clothes didn't already prove it.
"Nah. I'm visiting from the United Realms, not sure if you've `eard of `em yet. Originally from the Enchanted Forest, `til a curse brought me and m'loved ones to a world without magic..." She pauses, frowning as her mouth gets away from her again. Kind of a problem, when you lived in a tower half your life. "Anyway, we have a Captain Hook where I come from too, only he's called Killian Jones."
Alice pauses, wondering if he'll understand the implication. Does he even know that different realms exist yet?
no subject
Harry's eyes narrowed thoughtfully at her explanation - at first he thought she simply meant some far away kingdom he'd never heard of, but the more she talked the less sense that explanation made. Especially when she mentioned a Captain Hook of their very own, who had a whole different name somehow. He hadn't encountered multiple realms before, but the concept was fascinating, and if travel between them was possible... what better way to escape the isle and Auradon and all the associated baggage?
"Jones?" he repeated with a curious tilt of his head, his grin a little wolfish "Now you said that was your name.. any relation?"
no subject
"That's right." Perhaps a renewed introduction is in order, after all. She offers him her hand again, her grin broadening. "Alice Jones the Second, daughter of the famous Captain Hook. I s'pose that makes us siblings of a kind, then."
There are questions, of course - who his mother might be, even if she doubts it's anywhere near the same situation as hers, or what his Papa's like, a different version of the same man. But she doesn't ask them for now. Actually, it's kind of exciting - it's the first time for her, meeting a sibling, no matter how distant the relation.
"Looks like you went into the family business. Is she yours, then? The ship."
no subject
"Aye, I suppose it does," he agrees, grinning back at her and shaking the offered hand. Not that he isn't already overburdened with sisters (okay, so, there are only two of them, but when one of them is CJ that's overburdened enough), but it's still an intriguing enough situation to catch his attention.
His grin doesn't abate at the comment about going into the family business, because he's definitely a pirate, though it fades ever so slightly at the question - it's not the most impressive thing to have to admit to, but he also respected (and feared) Uma far too much to lie, because if she ever found out about it she'd gut him.
"I'm first mate. Uma's our captain." The Lost Revenge was almost his, but Uma won her fair and square. "It's her ship."
no subject
"Y'know, the way I see it, every great captain needs to learn how to be a great first mate. My Papa was first mate to his brother. And then when I was born, he gave the Jolly Roger to his first mate, so he could stay with me. Everything he learned from my uncle, he passed that on, and now Captain Smee's one of the most known names on all the seas."
Another long story from the girl who was once trapped in a tower.

Harry finds her tale quite interesting, actually, and though he'd never admit to it out loud it's also quite reassuring, just as she intends it to be - unfortunately he doesn't give away any of that, because by the end of the story he only has one possible reaction; he bursts out laughing.
"Captain... Smee?" he repeats through his giggles "Captain Smee? Oh that... that has to be a joke, right?"
The idea of his father's first mate ever becoming a captain was so ridiculous to him he just couldn't help it. Perhaps the Smee she knew was different, but somehow he doubted it.
no subject
"Not a joke," she replies once she stops laughing. "I know it's gotta sound like one, knowin' how Smee is and all but... it's real."
And if someone like Smee can become a captain? Then Harry definitely can, in her eyes. Alice is sure of that, even having only known him for moments.
"What's it like here?"
no subject
Harry shakes his head, still looking amused. He just can't imagine it, but hey, stranger things had happened he guessed.
The question makes him shrug, waving his hook to indicate the dilapidated docks and miserable people.
"Look around. What you see is what you get..." he pauses to consider this "Until you get ambushed going down the wrong alley, anyway. The isle is... not the happiest place on earth." he smirks grimly.
He's carved out a home for himself here, territory and friends and a way of life that works for him, but it's hard not to be bitter when you can see Auradon from the shore.
